Not Enough

It has always irked me to see general, nonspecific attacks on the failures of the "mainstream media." Not that the MSM is always a paragon of virtuous reporting, but were it not for them, what would the pajama-clad bloggers and wacko talk show hosts have to fulminate about if the MSM didn't bring attention to controversial issues in the first place?

In 2007, 64 journalists have died in the pursuit of news gathering, the most since 1994. I wonder how many bloggers and radio talk show hosts have sacrificed anything while doing their jobs.
