The Surgin' General

It's amazing how a word or phrase can reach a tipping point almost instantly.

Take for example, "surge." This is the Bush euphemism for what used to be called "escalation," itself a euphemism for "bigger war." There is an even older euphemism to describe what is going on in the conduct of America's war on Iraq -- SNAFU.

The Decider-in-Chief, when he isn't busy opening your mail, is now debating whether to send 10,000, 20,000 or 50,000 more American troops to risk their lives in the most misbegotten adventure since the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

To carry out Bush's treachery with the American electorate, he is putting Lt. General David Petraeus in charge. Thus he would become the "surgin' general.

I think Bush would have a much better view of the war and what needs to be done if the "surge" in troop levels were limited to two people. Their first names are Barbara and Jenna.
