I stopped watching "Jeopardy" a long time ago because after two consecutive years of showing up at auditions, acing the tests and not being summoned to Hollywood, I figured what more did I need to prove?
This may be it for the Washington Post's Style Invitational as well, as I have -- according to the Saturday online version -- finally won!!!! With five honorable mentions to boot!
Justice is well served. An honorable mention entry of mine last week disappeared between its online posting and publication of the newspaper because some higher-up editor thought it was inappropriate for a family newspaper. The contest was to change a letter in any word starting with E or F and turn it into a funny new word. So I suggested: "FAQu -- the response to frequently asked stupid questions."
So, I ask, what more is there to prove?
Which, I suppose, is a FAQu.
